In 2024, Accedo performed an end user research study, leveraging an online survey platform with 2000 respondents from 16 countries. We asked respondents about their behavior and attitudes toward video streaming, gathering insights on preferred platforms, personalization, data collection, user experience, and monetization.
The results brought many interesting - and in some cases, surprising - insights. While there are common industry assumptions about what streaming users want and expect, our findings challenge some of these widely held beliefs.
In this report, we present region-specific insights from European users, highlight three common misconceptions about user experience and engagement, and reveal what users in Europe actually think about key UX features and functionalities on streaming service.
